Our farm is 18 acres and has
quite a lengthy history. Nearly all of the land has been
in agricultural use since the 1940's. The property originally had
Washington State's largest
turkey farm on it until the 1960's! (Gobble Gobble) The Mor Turk Hatchery
kept a large part
of the Hunter family busy for many years.
The Christmas Tree Farm was
planted for the first time in 1986. The young trees keeps the
family busy year-round. Planting, spraying, checking, grooming, tracking
soil and moisture
are full time jobs. Our first trees were sold as the farm opened for the
first time in 1992.
In case you were wondering, our
name originated from our Christmas Wreath side of the
business. We started the Wreath business in 1990 as a way to raise money
for a family member's
medical treatment. The wreaths proved to be popular and a comment among
the family became
our name. "The Wreaths Work!" was the statement. Today, many years
later we are
The Wreath Works.
Each year we see nearly 1,000
visitors during the holiday season. Nearly half of those folks have
been coming to the farm from our very first season. It is very exciting to
see, chat and catch up with
all of our friends (and customers) each year! Each year the tree farm
sends 700-800 fresh cut
Christmas Trees home during our "choose and cut" season. Our wreath
factory, located in our red barn
sells, ships and delivers around 1500 fresh wreaths all around the world!
